Welcome to the Korean Education Centre in Sydney.
The Centre was established in August 1989 by the Government of the Republic of Korea in accordance with the 'Act on Educational Support, Etc. for Korean Nationals Residing Abroad.' The Centre was located within the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Sydney until it relocated in 2010 to a separate building equipped with classrooms to enable enhanced Korean language education capacity.
At the Centre we are providing quality education support for Saturday Korean language schools in the hope of assisting children of Korean nationals residing in Australia throughout their journey of growing into human resources who possess a solid sense of identity and pride in their home country.
We are also increasing access for Australian students to learn Korean by establishing Korean courses as part of the regular curriculum in primary and secondary schools across the country.
In continuing these efforts, we will work together with overseas Koreans organisations to help Korean students in Australia build confidence in their roots and develop global competency. We will also provide more channels of Korea-Australia cooperation in education by helping increase Korean courses in Australian schools and promoting student exchange.
